Hey there everyone!

  There is a lot going on on the Beverley Mahood front these days! First and foremost, there will be two (yes two!) new CD's released over the next few weeks. One is a Christmas album to be released on November 4th titled "This Christmas Celebrate Me Home". The other is a CD full of brand new material including the singles "This Girl" and "Rewrite History". It's titled "Unmistakable" and will be available in stores November 18th!

  To coincide with the album releases, Beverley has been touring the prairie provinces. She will continue touring through November and December on the "Singing for Supper" tour organized by Tom Jackson. In the past, Beverley has worked with Jackson on both the Huron Carole and the Holiday Train. This year Beverley is excited to return to the tour and help out local food banks!   Finally, be sure to catch Beverley and Casey Clarke hosting Halloween by Request on October 25th and October 26, starting at 1 pm EST.

  You can now view the new video for "Freckles" at Beverley Mahood's Facebook and Myspace pages. This video will only be available online. She will be shooting another video for "This Girl" in next few weeks, which will then enter rotation at CMT.

  There has been a lot of activity in preparation for the release of Beverley's new CD titled "Unmistakable". You can find song samples at both her Facebook and Myspace pages. In addition to this, the finishing touches are being made to a brand new video for the song "Freckles", which will soon be available for viewing online.

  In between finishing the album and shooting a video, Beverley has been gearing up for the summer tour season, and has kicked it off with CMT's Karaoke Star. For the second year in a row she is acting as a judge to determine which performers deserve a trip to Toronto and a chance to win   $10 000.

  A Tribute to a Good Friend:

Sébastien passed away on Saturday February 23rd at around 04h00 (am).

After years of fighting the most disgusting of diseases, Muscular Dystrophy, my remarkable friend Sebastien finished his battle and now walks freely again. I have known him since I began in this business in 1998. He would come to every show and later started website for me. While he was locked in the confines of a wheel chair Sebastian’s mind was much much sharper that most. This combined with health frustrations provided some real battles over the year for me but also for anyone who wrote anything negative in a manner which he did not approve. One time someone wrote in to City TV Vancouver's web-site basically saying I sucked on the morning show - Well look out, Sebastien let him have it. After that I think people were too scared to write anything bad so my feedback was all good. I always bugged him that his email still read (#1shania fan) and that he should get more with the Mahood program - he had great humor and sarcasm which kept me on my toes.

Sebastien had a wonderful supporting family and also a loyal friend and hardworking nurse. It is so hard for people to cope with this awful disease but they all did so well from a foundation of love. Sebastien tried to live as normally as he could day to day but muscular and speech limitations made that very difficult. Just to type a letter, Sebastien had to type one finger at a time on a touch screen. When you realize that some of his thoughts took up 5 pages the challenges he faced and his commitment just to live is inspirational.

Sebastien was one of the first people who believed in my music, was a fan and lived a life under the hardest of circumstances. He also was a friend. Many of you will notice his absence on the internet.
I will miss him.

 

 
On Monday, Beverley performed and co-hosted the CMT Music Video Awards Preparty. Pictures from the event have been added to the photogallery.

Also, new tour dates have been added in both Calgary and Ontario.

 The video for "Good to Be Alive" premiered on Central this past week, so look for it on CMT. Also, the single has been added to radio, so call your local radio station and request it!

Finally, Beverley's thoughts on the single:

 "In life we all have obstacles. Things don't always work out they way we hoped they would. 'The white picket fence is in the next door neighbor's yard'. But, no matter how bad life seems to be at any particular point, there is always a bright side. The glass may be half empty but you gotta believe it is half full. Like the song says, 'Still got a lot of plans and hopes and dreams and too many maxed out credit cards'.

This song is also the title track for the new CMT shows, 'Project Mom', and, 'Project Dad'. I host this show which targets deserving, music loving moms and dads whose children have written letters about them into CMT. We try to give these Moms and Dads an unforgetable day living the lifestyle of their favourite country music star. In the first Project Mom, the winner, from Halkirk AB, met Reba on the set of her show in Hollywood. She had never even been in a plane before. This show can be quite emotional. The payoff... watching those parents and their loving families grab hold of the relatively small experience we offer. They really do live their live with a bright side."
