Favourite Road-Trip CD:
One of the CDs by that Country artist Beverley Mahood. They are not
particularly famous CDs but there is just something about them. Everyone one
really should have one.
Languages other than English?
Officially no but most would say when she starts speaking with anyone
from Ireland, her Irish accent sounds like something very non-English. Beverley
was born in Belfast and can't stop it. Hang around her at St Patrick's Day and
you will see.
Nickname:
The Beaver....but it's not what you think! When Beverley gets mad, her
teeth push out at the front and look ready to chomp down on some tree. Yes,
very attractive.
Most frequently asked question:
Really? That's your nickname? --- See answer from above.
Education:
The school of music. Beverley began recording music when she was in
Junior High. While in high school, she began a career as a country singer
working with Canadian producers J Richard Hutt and later David Foster. Since
then she has recorded several CDs and toured extensively in Canada and the
United States.
Broadcasting Break:
Her television hosting career came as out of her recording career. She
hosted many TV specials, acted in some dramas and did some co-hosting on
Country Music Television (CMT). She's a firm believer that opportunity comes to
those who want it.
Favourite Citytv Show:
"The Bachelor" because it's a riot.
Most treasured possession:
Her voice and ability to communicate.
Proudest moment:
Listening to Celine Dion perform a song which Beverley had written.
Favourite quote:
"Believe in yourself, don't let anyone bring you down and don't
be afraid to be a bit out of the ordinary."
Ranch Connection
I’ve been around horses all my life and now many of my shows are performed at
rodeos across North America (not bad for a girl with allergies). My family owns
a small ranch outside London.
Frequent Food Cravings:
Did I mention French Fries? I’m not as much into dessert. I’m more a meat,
fish, veggie and potato girl.
Dream Kitchen Would Have:
A big island for food and conversation get- togethers, huge fridge and lots of
sauces, anything from BBQ sauce to liquor, and much wine.
